Just need to adjust your reverse cable. I don't advise using the reverse a great deal..unless you get stuck. The mechanism which is used by all manufacturers is just not that durable. They work fine if you use it sparingly. Mine is still good after two years but you need to adjust it occassionally.
Get the hop up kit. It makes a big differtence in torque and speed.
Thanks for the reply, I know your right about using it sparingly, we only have at the very most 1 and 1/2 hrs. on the new 150. My wife was about to take it out 4 the 2nd time and the shift cable broke , called the dealer, she has a new cable on the way.
We really like the little sand rail. Plan to get the hop up kit after it gets broke in.
It's cold up in these mtn's, plan to go to my son's house in Phoenix this weekend an do some riding.
You are both right. If the idle is set too high, shifting can be difficult or not at all, especially for a kid or female. I have also found that it can also be fixed by doing some small adjustments on the locknuts that hold the shifter cable to the lever. It's easy to screw up too, so you may want to call your dealer or call Dazon directly to learn how to do this the right way.
I have the same issue with my brand new 150. It seems to want to jerk in and out of reverse. It will eventually go into reverse, however, it sounds horrible. Should the cable be tight right before the the stop in the shifter or should it be tight well before the stop in the shifter?
Yepp lower the idle. Sometimes the idle is set high when they assemble them to get the gas flowing but after break in you can lower it and it will still idle. This will make shifting much easier.
we have 2 dazons 150 single and 150 double both 2005 modles and both shift and run fine and we are very pleased but we are dealing them and are for sale we just ordered a 175 and when the 250s come out we will have a couple of the to keep and i will tell you more
